Vide its letter No. 8-3/2018(CPP-I/PU), the UGC has recognized Sister Nivedita University as a private university which is empowered to award degrees as per section 22 of the UGC Act.

Vide its communication dated April 10, 2018, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), issued the Letter of Approval to Sister Nivedita University.
